Press

Dublin Decoded has featured on radio and in many newspapers, both nationally within Ireland, and internationally,  including the Journal (Dublin); the Dublin Inquirer;  the Wall Street Journal (link here); the Financial Times  the Irish Independent, and (very recently) in the Irish Times (here)   Arran has also written extensively himself, for example in the prestigious Irish Arts Review, and several other publications including, most notably perhaps, his well-known monthly columns called Hidden Dublin. which appeared in “Totally Dublin” magazine during the 2000s.

TV and Radio.

Dublin Decoded is often asked to contribute historic insight or context on history or built heritage on both national and local radio, including Anna Livia radio and RTE radio 1’s  Live-line Programme, hosted by presenter Joe Duffy.   In addition, we also have also appeared on the American television program Ireland with Michael, hosted by musician, presenter and travel guide Michael Londra, and which airs on PBS television, right across the United States.  Excitingly,  from June/July 2024, some of Michael’s programs will air on all transatlantic Aer Lingus flights.  That includes the episode that these video snippets just below comes from.     For reviews of Dublin Decoded, on TripAdvisor, or to leave you own TripAdvisor review of our tours, please see the foot of this page.

Reviews for our famous How to Read a Painting tour, for example, in the National Gallery of Ireland.

“Arran’s 2-hour tour of a selection of the paintings in the Gallery was outstanding – he has a wealth of knowledge and a wonderfully structured and enthusiastic way of imparting it to a group – we both enjoyed the tour immensely and now have a deepened base of knowledge to appreciate the treasures of the Gallery. Highly recommended”

“Arran was an excellent tour guide. His passion and knowledge in this area made this a wonderfully insightful, fun and educational tour. I have been into the National Gallery a few times before, but I am so excited to go in again with new eyes and really savour paintings in a new way. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Judith”

Reviews for our historic and architectural walking tours

Reviewed 2 May 2017

“We spent a fun hour exploring the historical and contemporary architectural heritage of Temple Bar, an area familiar to many Dubliners and visitors, but which we saw in a completely new light following the treasure hunt and tour of the area with Arran and his assistant.
Highly recommended for visitors and Irish people alike, even if you think you know Temple Bar, you are sure to learn something new.”

“Aaron’s historic walking tours of Dublin are superb. Aaron shares his expert knowledge in a friendly, entertaining and informal way and one feels as if you are taking a stroll around town with an old friend. I highly recommend the Dublin Decoded tours for locals and visitors alike who are keen to learn more about the beautiful city of Dublin.”
